DLCI Member Of The Month - December 2023 Vyvyan Harris

We lived in North Devon until, on a whim, having sold our house we moved to France in 2000.  Our first house was in Engayrac, a very small commune in Lot et Garonne.  We lived there for 9 years, renovating the house and then having Bed and Breakfast guests.  In 2009 we moved to Laroque des Albères, a village at the bottom the hills on the border with Spain south of Perpignan.  There, we lived about 5Kms outside the village, and we were able to walk directly onto the wild, hilly countryside.  The winters were warmer than here, but the wind , the Tramontane, was tiring.  In 2019 we sold our house there and decided to return to Roumagne in Lot et Garonne.  Here we are completely retired.  I love the garden and am attempting to improve that which we inherited.

I joined DLCI after I had arrived - end of 2019.  Once we were able to mix again, after Covid, it was very helpful to get to meet, and get to know, like minded women.  I particularly enjoy our lunches.  I am now the Membership Secretary and hope to continue for some time to come.
